Both teams achieved a score of 241 at 50 overs.
Even after the Super Over, the score remained the same with twice 15 runs.
Because the English had recorded more boundaries, beaten balls, during the match (26 against 17), the title went to them.
For the English cricketers, there is finally the world title.
Three times before, England lost the final, in 1979 to the West Indies archipelago, in 1987 from Australia and 1992 from Pakistan.
For New Zealand, which also had never before taken the title, it was the second final in a row.
In 2015, Australia was lost.
