Invalid Teachers Can Enter More Often

Invalid Teachers can Enter more Often. A substitute teacher in education may soon be more frequent. Schools in primary education and special education can offer multiple contracts continuously from the coming school year.

Now such temporary workers, who sometimes only spend a day or a few days, quickly get through their maximum number of contracts.

Minister Wouter Koolmees (Social Affairs and Employment) has decided to intervene, although he already wanted to change the law.

He reacts to a request from the employers and employees. They must record the adjustment in their collective labour agreements.

Since the introduction of the Work and Security Act (Wwz), schools in special education have come under the so-called chain provision.

It means that substitutes are entitled to a permanent job after some short contracts. The chain determination proved to be a problem for primary education.
