British Furious After Von Der Leyen Threat to Stop Export of Vaccines

By threatening to stop the export of vaccines to the United Kingdom, the European Commission behaves “like a dictatorship”.

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said this after Ursula von der Leyen’s speech.

The German president of the European Commission had said that the European Union plans to stop sending vaccines to the United Kingdom if that country doesn’t send vaccines the other way. Von der Leyen is also of the opinion that no more vaccines should go to countries at the forefront of vaccination. By that, she meant the United Kingdom.

Brussels wants Oxford vaccines from AstraZeneca produced on British soil to come to the European mainland. This demand has surprised the British as half of the 14.8 million Oxford vaccines on the mainland are unused. On the other hand, there is a shortage in the United Kingdom, where there are many punctures.

Brussels is now threatening to stop the supply of Pfizer vaccines to the United Kingdom. The British have reacted furiously to this turn of events. “We’ll grab your jabs,” read a photo of Von der Leyen in cow letters on the front page of the Metro, or “We’ll get your syringes.”
