Prince Harry and wife Meghan say goodbye to their joint Instagram account Sussex Royal. The couple posted the very last post to the account two days before officially stepping back within the British royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex thank their 11.3 million followers for all their support and thinking about the future.
“While we are all looking for the role we play in this global change and change of habits, we are focusing on this new chapter to discover how we can best contribute.”
Although Harry and Meghan no longer share anything via Sussex Royal, they continue to work. “Although you don’t see us here anymore, the work continues.” The couple would like to thank all followers for their “support, inspiration and shared commitment to the good of the world”.
The Sussexes are looking forward to connecting with their fans through other channels. “Until then, take good care of yourself and each other.”
Although no more updates will appear via Sussex Royal on Instagram and the associated website, the platforms will continue to exist for the time being. The spokesperson for Harry and Meghan tells British media that they are not yet being removed.
At the beginning of this year, the Duke and Duchess agreed that their step back within the British royal family also means saying goodbye to Sussex Royal as a brand name. As of Wednesday, the so-called ‘megxit’ is officially a fact and they no longer use their royal titles.
