The death toll from the coronavirus in the United States rose to over 30,000 on Thursday.
According to a Johns Hopkins University census, 30,990 people have now died of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
The U.S. has the highest death toll in the world, followed by Italy with 21,645 deaths, although the population is only one-fifth that of the U.S.
Spain recorded 19,130 deaths, followed by France with 17,167.
