Online store Amazon has adapted the logo for its smartphone app. According to some users, the symbol resembled Adolf Hitler’s moustache.
On the left the old, according to some ‘wrong’ logo of the Amazon app; on the right, the modified version.
Amazon used to use an icon with a shopping cart. But recently the American e-commerce giant adjusted the icon. They chose the curved Amazon arrow with a piece of blue tape above it.
This makes it look like the logo is smiling. But because the blue tape was jagged at the top, it reminded some users of Adolf Hitler’s characteristic moustache.
In the meantime, Amazon has adapted the logo again. In that new version, the serrated blue tape has been replaced by a straight piece of blue tape with a corner folded over.
