France Tightens Rules for Travellers to UK, Spain and Portugal

France is tightening the corona rules for travellers from the United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal. From now on, the corona test for unvaccinated people must be taken no more than 24 hours before travel.

For other countries, a maximum time frame of 72 hours still applies.

The French Minister of European Affairs, Clement Beaune, reports this after the statements of President Emmanuel Macron. It announced Monday evening that the rules for travellers from risk areas would be tightened but did not share any details yet.

France requires travellers to prove testing if they have not yet been fully vaccinated with a corona vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or have demonstrably recovered from Covid-19.

Unvaccinated travellers from outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, must be quarantined upon arrival.
