Once again, there has been a significant increase in the number of newly diagnosed corona infections in Germany.
The Robert Koch Institute, the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported no fewer than 14,211 new cases over the past 24 hours on Thursday morning.
On Wednesday there were 9705, about a third less. After a dip last weekend, the number of new infections rose steadily in Germany in recent days.
In total, the coronavirus has so far been diagnosed in 2,252,001 people in the Federal Republic.
In the past 24 hours, another 786 Covid patients died in Germany. The lung virus has already claimed at least 59,742 lives in total.
