The number of corona deaths in French hospitals has increased by almost 600 in a day. In total, 5091 patients have succumbed to coronavirus there so far, authorities report.
In addition, a total of 1,416 deaths occur in care homes and other institutions.
Official figures on the deaths in nursing homes were released for the first time on Thursday, at 884 recently.
